“We had a great level of service, excellent communication and an incredible site supervisor, who went out of his way to make sure that we had the best experience,” Chanuka said.

“We can’t fault the quality of the home and are so pleased with the result, from the high-end fittings we selected to the workmanship, which was first-class.

“The after sales service and follow-up from Burbank was prompt and responsive. They were extremely approachable and followed through on all of our requests.”

Chanuka said the timing of the project meant there were some challenges, including national shortages which were causing widespread delays across the entire construction industry.

“I set the expectation very early on that we wanted to be informed of any delays. Having an open dialogue with senior staff at Burbank allowed us to communicate at a very pragmatic level throughout the duration of the build,” he said.

“The State General Manager was extremely approachable and went above and beyond to ensure that we were kept informed.”

But a career opportunity and interstate relocation meant the family had to reluctantly sell their dream home.

“With the experience we have had with Burbank, we may potentially look to find another older home in a nice suburb of Melbourne and do a knockdown rebuild again,” Chanuka said.

“If that transpires, I would not hesitate to have Burbank manage another build for us given their high level of service, professionalism and the outstanding quality of their workmanship.”
